Do not give a king a crown ~
He has so many, he will not be pleased!
Give him a nice new ermine gown ~
But tell him, the animals were all diseased!

If you serve up for a chef,
Give him hotdogs or a burger.
If you serve him cordon bleu
His reply will just be eugh!

If you want people to enjoy
The fruits of all your toil,
Go out to the hedgerows and the arches?
Find people there to spoil!

Author Explanation: I can't remember; it does seem rather odd.

You posted this on GW a year ago, FC? I hope its reception then wasn't as non-existent as it has been this time. This is a 24-hour/no-reviews wee cracker. Cool

The mind boggles. Laughing

I love the Eugh rhyme. I used to meet a lot of top chefs (interviewing them for me mag), and they're so snobby it's unbelievable. Crying or Very sad
If you want people to enjoy
The fruits of all your toil,
Go out to the hedgerows and the arches?
Find people there to spoil!

The last verse has me furiously scratching my noggin. I love puzzles, FC. That verse is like a sudoku in words.
Ezxcellent poem. Cool

HAHAHAHA
good one! Smile

i like the whole idea behind
this work
itz well written
short, rhyming stanzaz
very in sync and nicely put

but point to be noted:
no one does that for anyone anymore
and the one fool who, out of goodness, does...
gets taken for a ride and dumped

but hey, well done...

Ah, but Mahwish across the road tells me that at Eid, her family feeds the whole village. Shocked

Black cat Hi Mogs. I enjoyed this. I remember you having flu last year...we both had it had if I remember - but it was a very interesting year all the same. I loved the ideas in this..and I guess you are thinking we should all be looking to feed those who are in need rather than the 'already haves'....a nice thought all in all. Scribs xx

Hello, Scribby!
I think this one is a little disjointed and preachy, thinking on the hoof, but it just about gets there?
Glad that you enjoyed it, and always happy when you drop by!
Take Care,
Love Nikki x
