While Shepherd Watch theirFlocks by Night on Ilkley Moor

Outline: The Olden tune for While Shepherds Watch was Ilkley Moor bar Tat. It seems rather appropriate?
Why: To offload it.
While Shepherds watched their flocks by night,
On Ilkley Moor bar tat,
While shepherds watched their flocks by night,
While shepherds watched their flocks by night,
On Ilkley Moor bar tat,
On Ilkley Moor bar tat,
On Ilkley Moor bar tat!

The Angel of the Lord came down,
On Ilkley Moor bar tat,
The Angel of the Lord came down
The Angel of the Lord came down,
And Glory shone around,
And Glory shone around,
And Glory shone around!

etc.

HMMM, well what can I say.... I think I would only understand it if I knew what/where Ilkley Moor is. And bar tat?

Erm, has a great tune to it that I could imagine being sung :)

Ah, now Ilkley Moor Bar Tat is the default National Anthem of Yorkshire, Ilkley Moor being a vast hilly heathery area of common sheep grazing. Bar Tat is without a hat. It's not exactly a song I can take credit for, is it, being a simple merger of the two? but it seemed an interesting idea at the time! Confused Yorkshire to England is a bit like Texas to America, when it comes to "national" pride. Its boundaries were unchanged for over a thousand years, until the '70s.
