If I was a Boy

Outline: Another of my GW works, written a year ago today.
Why: To see what people think of it.

If I was a Boy.
Poetry Author: Firecat
Created: 20 November 2004

If I was a boy I'd stand at the loo
And splash round the seat like the other boys do.
I'd use my boy toy to wee up against trees,
And not even care whether somebody sees.

I'd throw myself into my work, without feeling,
And stand on my mates to break through the glass ceiling!
At night, lying restless, I wouldn't count sheep,
I'd play with my wife, then fall quickly asleep.

But, what if my mind were still that of a girl?
What if the things I saw made my hair curl?
Would I still sit when I went to the loo?
Would I dare do what the other girls do?

What would I do for the friends that I miss?
Would I still comfort them? Cuddle them? Kiss?
What would I do if I hadn't a clue?
If I just could not do what it is boys do?

What would I do when I'm frightened or blue?
If I needed a hug, or a cry in the loo?
Or would I hide all my true feelings, and ask
About cars, drink and football, take on a mask!

Would I get dirty, drive recklessly, yell?
Would I do, could I do, how can I tell?

Hi FC
I think you know the answer to the questions you pose. You'd still be you, no matter whether you were male or female. How you expressed yourself might be different though. Wink

Good read thanks

MP: "When your heart and mind feel they belong
In the same body"

Quote from Waiting, by MummyPenguin.

When they can't it gnaws away at you like some consumptive madness; and no waking hour is free of that dissonance...

Sorry to be so somber.

We are to be pitied, we poor lonely boys, who love our little toys from electric train sets to Ferraris, from rubber ducks to sailing yachts when all we really need is a cuddle and a kindly ear. You said it right and said it well.

I used to be one of those - about a century ago! Don't believe all you read. We used to have to sit on a french boy at our school to make him eat frogs! Loved this one too. thanks for the insight.
