Party Night

Outline: I wrote this a year ago for GetWriting. There was a party that night, but I had just joined so wasn't involved; actually, I couldn't have gone anyway!

They're having a party tonight,
They really are excited!
They're having a party tonight
But I am not invited.

I'm actually not downhearted,
In fact I'm full of glee!
They won't have really Partied
If they haven't invited me!

Oh so true, FC. The same thing happened at the party in September, when I didn't turn up. Laughing Every time the door opened, all eyes turned towards it, hopefully anticipating... fingers crossed, prayer mats out... but it always ended with a deep, heavy sigh. Crying or Very sad
"Is he here yet? Is he coming?" somebody would ask, excitedly.
"You're living in a dream world," somebody else would reply.

Or were they talking about CadenzRime? Wink

By the way, FC, you must be psychic. You wrote this poem in November 2004, and the party was a year later?

There's one in Belfast in February. The loveliest city on Earth. Not sure if I can make it, though... too far for me to travel...
