A Hunter's Moon

Outline: Argentina vs England in Geneva
A Hunter's Moon

A Hunter’s Moon
Then one-nill down
But Rooney shone
So… game on!

Then yet again
The game is lost
But Owen scores
So… nowt lost.

A Hunter’s Moon
It’s two-two
Then Owen wins
So… yahoo!

Hi maipenrai,

Yeah, as Alan Hanson said, 'It's the best friendly match I've ever seen.'

Not very often I'm jumpin' up 'n down hoopin' an' a' hollerin' at the TV screen. You'd think the World Cup itself was at stake, and in a way it was; we proved to the world that we are capable of winning it when we're on form.

Cheers

Matt,

Yeah, lad, cracking game. Sorry about the All Black's rout of the Irish.. man it's gonna take England to put those massive monsters in their place. Ha! Now there's a hopeful spirit for you, hehehe.

mp,

Cheers m'dears, and I remember ladies in Hot Pants. I wonder why it was never made compulsary by Law? Hmm... hehe. Wink

Hi CR,

Yahoo in deed. Thanks for that link, I've submitted the ditty, and I've got another couple in my archive somewhere.

Cheers

scribbler,

That berrabe one hell of a novel ta miss out on a friendly match of such importance Confused Laughing Laughing Laughing I was bellowing that loud you could have heard me in the next town.

Bedford,

Really simple game, footie, yer see... yerv got this round ball of air, see, and you have ta kick it in a net. Kick it in the net more than them and you win. Now rugby, that's a different kettle of pickles; that's a game played by men with funny-shaped balls. Shocked

Laughing Laughing Laughing

Thanks, All OK

An' cricket's even easier ta understand, Bedford,

Yer see, when you're in you're in for overs until you're out and then it's 'over and out' and then those that are out do overs until they're in again. And you play it with a big stick - simple. Wink

Great result. With Rooney, Lampard, Ferdinand, Robinson, Owen, Beckham, Terry, Ashley Cole, that Liverpool midfielder et al, England won't go far wrong next summer.

nice rhythm and rhyme here, good poem. Pity the boys couldn't deliver in Germany this year.
I should really do the same for another football match I was at.
