What is a moment?

Outline: In contrast to Fifteen Minutes.
What is a moment?

A minute divided into sixty seconds
All ticking by towards the next.

An instant of pure happiness
A smile, an indrawn breath, a sigh of content.

A chuckles' worth of merriment,
A giggle, a guffaw of healing laughter.

A drop of calm into a troubled mind,
Pooling into an hour of peacefulness.

A cry of agony, of pain or loss,
A broken splinter in the soul.

An endless thing that limps along
Pushing the boundaries of the hour into eternity.

Aww, this is beautiful, Anon. It's written in such tenderness of belief. I love each thought expressed. An excellent write. Thanks for sharing. cheers, scarlet

I think the word 'forward' is superfluous in the first couplet.

In the next couplet 'sigh of content' should be 'sigh of contentment' shouldn't it? I'm not sure - so if somebody can help. It's all nouns and verbs; I found a passage that read 'my content was threatened', 'content' in the context of being at peace, so perhaps you're right.

I really like 'an endless thing that limps along'.

I don't like 'frenzied mind', it's trite.

I'm not being much help, but at least I spoke.

Regards,

Dan.

Thanks, Scarlet, for your kind comments and Dan for your suggestions. I'm thinking about them, but need to see how they change the metre. Heaven forbid that I should be "trite" - I've done something about that anyway!Cheers!

Hey Nony I like this.

I want you to now go here and listen to this because it's your words put to music...

Hello to Alex and Admin and also to Logibear(quite easily the smartest man on MW)

Can I do a direct link to a YouTube vid?

Now Nony, you need to time this right: Make sure it's a night when you an yours have no need to get up early in the morn and then you simply must go out some where and have a great night out on the town and then return back home and grab those late night coffees and teas(well yer English and I'm guessing that's what yer do) or maybe just pour something into a glass that needs to be poured.

Then you go an listen to this at the loudest volume your allowed...no it's not thrash or some kinda loud stuff but rather some rather nice stuff you probably never knew existed Smile

Here, grab this link and hit hit and make sure it's not a night when things are quite but rather one when you walk into yer front door and things are just cruising .....

Oh an make sure you paly it twice and on the second playing your reading yer words...

Honest they sorta gel somewhat

Cool

Thanks to Cul and Ian for your kind comments. I did go and listen, Cul, and very much liked what I heard. But I must wait until "Significant Other" is round mine to do the whole thing properly. I'll let you know!

Brief, infinitessimal;
an instant that's impossible.
But who needs intellectual?
Anony weaves her spell:

through moment's of emotional
contented content - overall.
Anonymouse has said it all:
her poems are memorable...
and warm and wise, as well.
