Autumn - RooAutumn is my favourite season - all the red leaves fall.
Cool, sunny days, no summer haze; Cool evenings, Thrush's call. Summer's harshness over now, Winter's yet to come. A glowing fireplace, gentle warmth From long-dead River Gum. Birds are getting ready for the cold that's almost here. Foxes' coats are thickening now, Displaying "Winter gear". For several months the seasons change from heat to bitter chill. But Autumn is a pleasant time; I wish t'was Autumn still [Edit thanks to Ron's suggestions] Author Explanation: Flash poetry |
