Heat

Outline: Just back from my holiday!
Heat rests on me lightly,
Buffets me gently,
Lures me out;
Then knifes me
Leaving scorch marks
On my skin.

Heat wafts through the air,
Seeps into the bedroom,
Humidifies the sheets,
Glues us together.

Heats slows my steps,
Dragging my feet,
Stifling my breath.

Heat dries the towels
And lightens my mood.

Heat mostly lives abroad.
It can creep into my suitcase,
But I must leave it
In the Departure Lounge.

Bet you forgot to bring me a back a stick of rock.

An amusing and original write,

Brian
