Middle Age Musing

Outline: I only get half an hour a week on the copmputer now, so needs be brief; and I have permanent clinical depression!
Why: To move on?
Review: Any graciously accepted.
Methinks the way one sees one's life
Doth much upon one's age depend.
I used to wait for life to start;
But somewhere life took a blind bend ~
And now I wait for it to end.

Author Explanation: Just a thought I had this morning whilst dog walking.

Hello Firecat,
I am so sorry to hear about the clinical depression. I suffered the same thing many years ago but luckily, I came back from it and the world looks very different now.
I'm now 61 and you know, in spite of the fact that physically I'm not good, I have discovered many bonuses to being my age. It has changed my life just belonging to "More Writing" and every day has a challenge now. You could use your feelings and thoughts to compose more poetry, even though you have little computer time, you could write them during the rest of the week.
Todays poem is so well written and concise. It says everything in so few words but perfectly, it's just such a shame that it is a sad conclusion. Don't give up because you obviously have a great deal to give.
Thinking of you, Pam

Hi Firecat,

I can and can't relate to what you're saying here. I'm nowhere near old enough really, to have crossed into that yet. I know what you're saying though.

I used to wait for life to start; But somewhere life took a blind bend I guess I'm waiting for life to start, and anticipating the blind bend in a way. But yeah, as you say your outlook all depends on what age you are.

Thanks for the read here. All best wishes,

Tim

Carson, beware, for as the Moody Blues put it so well thirty years and more ago, No-one tells you when to run...
Start running NOW! The chances are gone before you know it!

Pamela, I'm ten years behind you. Thankyou for your kind words. I've run away to the computer café again so I've stolen some bonus time for myself! That has to be good! Wink

Hi Firecat- great poem. Don't worry so much about the start and end of life, you've got a lotta livin' to do now, so I sincerely hope you can find a way to enjoy all life's got to offer you, now. It's great to read your work, again. cheers, scarlet Smile

Deep, dark poem. Saddened by your explanation.

Short, packed poem. Excellent.

Short, snappy and straight to the point. Excellent use of words.

I use to sit and wait for life to start, but now I get the jump leads out and try to get it going. Easier said than done, I know, but even if things don't go to plan, and you hit a blind bend, there may still be something good waiting further up the road.

Take care, Firecat.
