In Between, Too Tense

Outline: A flash poem.
Why: Maybe for fun, maybe as a warning - dunno, haha.
Review: Any comment welcome.
In Between, Too Tense

Inside your head are pictures twisted wrong
Painted by a rumour from the gossip gutter.
Why do you listen to the cackling throng
Who have not seen these vile acts that they utter?

Why is my eye witness testimony always false to you
And never seen in the true light of real events?
Could it be that one night I strayed with someone new
Who didn't question motives as I moved between two tents?

Author Explanation: Subconsciously, I guess the 'two tents' came from the old wigwam/tepee joke of being, 'Too tense.'

Hmm, "maybe for fun, maybe as a warning". Bit of both.
Thought this was good, Ron. Concise and to the point. I can relate to your first stanza, "the gossip gutter" indeed. Frustrating, when rumours come between people.
Two tents but no halfway house eh? Wink
Thanks Ron, enjoyed.

Cheers Tim,

Yeah, here is the latest message from Rumour Control: 'Local shops and post offices are good sources of information,' said the spokeswoman from No.44 Strange Avenue.

I concur with the previous poster.

"Nothing is, without thinking making it so." or was it Nietsche(?) who said something vaguely like, "A lie when uttered a thousand times though not the truth is no longer a lie."

Hello Brian,

Didn't Goebbels follow/twist Nietzsche's philosophy when he said, 'Tell a lie often enough and people will believe it.'?

Thanks for commenting and, yes, I'll nip over to your piece now. Thanks for the invite. Very Happy

Cheers

Ron.

Thanks for the read, Ron. A beautiful piece that really made me think. I'm always amazed how some people can just reel off the words so effortlessly.

Cheers

Thanks, JJ, much appreciated. Very Happy

It's all a question of just relaxing, really, and not worrying that you may be making a balls-up as you write. If you are trying to write something you believe in, then there is no inner conflict with what's in your mind and what comes out onto the page. You just speak. Wink

All the best and thanks for dropping by my mind again. Cool

Cheers

I'm always making a balls up of things, Ron. But you know what they say, if you don't try something you'll never know...

Hi
Have to say Ron the twist from the kind of lyrical n 19century style language to falling between two tents just gave me visions of Carry on Camping or something but there is some kind of accomplished rhyme going on that kind of made me intrigued.
Thanks j

Hi Ron, this title reminds me of a sketch I saw with Victoria Woods and some other woman who somehow ended up on the welsh hillside with a tent to put up. VW says to the other girl, 'You do it......you have done it loads of times before' whereupon the girl looks at her and says she never has.
'Yes you have, your mother said you had.' says VW
'Why would she say that? I've never done any camping before'
VW says, 'When I spoke to her she said you were always intense as a girl.' I still cant see any reference to tents without thinking of it. lol......xxxxxxxx

ps, nifty little bit of writing....good one! x
