NERVE
By Loobyloo

You had your finger on my proverbial love nerve.
I was sensationally sensative to your charm and verve.
Your manner was enticing,
Your wit quite slicing,
But your passion was the icing
On the cake.
Your aura was sometimes quiet serenity.
You promised to love me all the way to senility,
You were so full of snip-snap energy
You said you wished there were ten o me.
Now that's just being a pig!

NERVE
By ochsterboxter

Raw. Unhinged and delicate.
Tender to the slightest change
of incrimental weather
or thoughtless gesture.
All hell comes from other people.
Nerve gives out.
And left to wonder
why understanding comes to others
but never to me.
Raw. Unhinged and delicate.
And always praying not to be.

NERVE
By maipenrai

He had a nerve you know,
calling me seven bellies,
lift up your chin he said,
and the other two he said,
so i thought to meself,
just as you do
F--k you ,you lanky
streak of p*ss then I
hit him with the cue ball
and danced upon his head,

now thats what i call nerve yer know
when i danced upon his head,
yeah ,thats what i call nerve cause
all HIS NERVES ARE DEAD.

NERVE
By JAM

She came
She saw
She wanted
But there was no way she was getting any of this
I wound her up
Surprised she’d thought me sincere
Her eye’s shining with every word I spoke
Her smile, her own deception
My grin, a misinterpreted sham
She left, too happy for her own good
I watched and listened to Tommy’s mocking words
“The nerve of that girl!”

SERENITY STAYS
By anne other-one

Serenity smiled
deep
eyes shone within

Serentiy lay
swathed tiny sighed bundle
arms wrapped lap

Serenity pressed
breast lips
flexed long thighs
entwined

Serenity stayed
memory
placed
Serenity stayed

YOU AND I (SERENITY)
By Sammy-Sparkle

Clouds are dripping endlessly
Between the blue and gray dreamscape
While people live their shallow lives
Believing life is real.

Sunshine on a summer's day
Reflects the love-light in your eyes
While hatred burns in others' hearts,
They can't see you and I.

Windows on a universe
Show sights unseen by mortal souls
Where love can be both seen and heard,
There's no one else but We.

Bricks and mortar don't exist
And bodies are a memory
For love is in each breath you take,
In Heaven we exist.

I love you and you love me,
Time has no meaning any more -
Serenity is everything,
You're music to my eyes.

Clouds are dripping endlessly
Between the light and dark dreamscape
Where no one knows that we exist...
I wrote this song for you.

SERENITY
By MummyPenguin

Serenity, I remember it well
I had it before I went to this hell
And why am I in this awful place?
Because I saw your smiling face.

Serenity, was on the rolling hill
The memory of it haunts me still
I search to regain it night and day
But I fear it has gone too far away.

Serenity, you have it right now
I gave it all to you, somehow
Loving you with a passion so strong
Took my serenity as it went along.

Sweetest of

Relatively easy to find
Exact location

Inside
Thoughts as
Your mind unwinds

Excellent poems by MummyPenguin, Jam, Maipenrai, Loobyloo, Ochsterboxter, KateS, Anne other-one and Inker. I've spent good money on poetry books that aren't half as good as this.
It's amazing what you can do in fifteen minutes, if you put your mind to it. Laughing

You should get yourself in that group then and promote it, mush. Laughing

Nah, they're too good for me, Ron. I don't want to cramp their style. Very Happy
So, what are this week's themes, in case any newbies want to join in the fun? Confused Oh yes: Blue, Windchime, Marlebone, and Thump.

I bet John Betjeman would join in if he was still alive. And if he is, I apologise to his widow for that slanderous statement.

I liked all of yours, Bernie. But Icing and Search for Serenity 2 are my two favourites. Very Happy

I know what you mean. I'd only written five or six poems this year, until this group started. Now I've doubled my annual total in a week. Laughing

That's the whole point of it in the first place--to unblock writer's block. In order to write anything meaningful a writer must be able to write without thinking about it. If you stop to think you lose the flow. Wink

I've never had writer's block, Ron, I have to force myself not to write. I've been getting really good at not writing poems lately (laziness is my only vice). Laughing

And that's Clause 2 in the Membership Contract:

CLAUSE 2:

To take part one must actually be awake. There are no exceptions to this Clause. If in any doubt refer to Catch-22 by Joseph Heller.
