The battle of Llongborth This is a test work to try out the new Poetry Development system.
Although serious poetry, it's 900-1500 years old.

Arthur, Morgana and the Fortunate Isle: Letter to the Editor An attempt to use creative writing to explore complex historical problems in an accessible way. This 1000 word letter to the weekly newspaper of the Isle of Wight about a local mystery has just been accepted for publication. The facts (or references to alleged facts) are true, but I've tried to present them in a way that hints at an underlying story readers have to work out for themselves. I've also attempted to involve readers by asking them to fit things they know into the skeleton tale. |

Space Cadets - The Real Mission! (Part 1) A new Channel 4 reality Programme Called 'Space Cadets' starts this week. British astronauts are to be selected from 100 candidates. The winners will be conned into thinking they travel into space. But the idea came from a real and far more dangerous experiment (Got this under fiction because some of the story has had to be recreated from remaining evidence). |

Arthur, Morgana, Avalon and oral history This is a study of the power of the written word. Much of what is known/ believed about the Dark Ages is drawn from the elements of oral histories victors, politicians and priests decided should be written down for posterity (nothing changed there then). Can we ever get at the truth? Local folk stories passed by word of mouth for over a thousand years might yet contain new clues. |

Return from Avalon - A TV Sitcom (scenes 1-3) Merlin gets a bit bored with life in the Dark Ages, where his magic isn’t really appreciated, so he brings his charges, the Knights of the Round Table, with him into modern times. The only problem is that his boss, Arthur, sees it as his duty to save the world.
This is my stab (ouch) at a new sitcom involving legend; fantasy; odd characters; the struggle of good against evil; special effects; politics; visual comedy; reality; and hopefully laughter for a prime time TV audience |

The Monster Detectors This is a (sample) piece of creative writing containing advice about the use of inhalers. The story is designed to help a child sufferer remember to take preventitive medication every day. This is posted purely as a demonstration of idea. This particular story wouldn't work as is because it also conveys erroneous information about the cause of asthma (in the real world). |
